OUR STORY

How we met - month by month

April: I first saw Tyler when I came in for an interview at the YMCA, I didn't think much of it at the time.

May: On my very first day working at the front desk, Tyler was the first person who trained me.  I definitely thought he was cute, and I had heard about him but couldn't read him very well. He also was super quiet so I doubted that he would ever even talk to me.  As I continued to work at the YMCA I would see him pretty frequently, but never really talked to him.  Until May 17th on his birthday, when a couple of coworkers and I decided to sing to him.  That's the day that I learned that he didn't drink and that his dad is a sheriff's deputy, which I thought was extremely cool. That's the day that I developed a small crush on him.  I also came up with the idea to use Apple watches as the walkie-talkie system at work, so I discreetly got his number.

June:  I saw him at work on a Saturday when he was going to work after hours for a very odd birthday party. I talked to him briefly, probably the most that I had ever talked to him though. Then later that day I decided to text and ask him how the party went, and he sent me a very interesting video of some of the music that they played. We then texted for a couple of days just talking about food, and he then left me on read. He claims it was because I didn't ask a question at the end of the conversation. 

July:  I worked with him on a Saturday morning. He stayed behind the front desk to build a play kitchen. It was just him and I up there so we talked for a long time. We discovered that we have a lot in common.  We both love roller coasters, Jesus, video games, and movies. I even agreed to join his Plex server... I had no clue what it was I just did it because I had a crush on him and wanted a reason to talk to him more.  Discovery made, it's a server of all his family's DVD movies that you can watch digitally.  After that day we texted non-stop and discovered even more things that we have in common like politics, bike rides, and Marvel. We texted every day and then went out to see a movie together at The Greene. I was super nervous but it was a fun car ride and we snapped a picture. After that, we planned our outing to Kings Island, but he sent me a text saying that he couldn't wait that long to hang out with me so we went out for ice cream too.... he even gave me a hug, which shocked me because he didn't seem like the hugging type, he must have really liked me. 

Late July:  We went to Kings Island and on the car ride there he asked me to be his girlfriend. I then had the best day ever at Kings Island. Just after Kings Island he asked my mom permission to date me... had to get those brownie points. Then we started hanging out all the time and getting to know each other even better. I got the privilege of meeting his family, and I can truly say that I've never made such an amazing choice.   

The rest, as they say, is history.

THE PROPOSAL

How I proposed to Faith

Planning a surprise proposal for somebody who already knows it's going to happen is difficult, to say the least. I managed to pull it off. 

The proposal had quite a few moving parts throughout the day, but I'll try to keep it short.

I decided to have the engagement at the location of our first picnic. I asked Faith's friend Olivia to take her out for some fall pictures.

Simple right? Nothing suspicious - wrong. Faith saw right through it but still had doubts.

Olivia took Faith to a dummy location - the cemetery of all places, but hey, it worked! Faith was a little less suspicious now.

While those pictures were going on, I was at the proposal spot getting things ready with my Dad.

After I had everything ready, I let Olivia know it was safe to bring Faith to the final fall pictures location.

Little did Faith know, that this "final" picture location would change her life - she would be walking away with an engagement ring.

She did say "YES", thank the Lord.
